SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison will spend the spring and summer of 2010 pounding the skins for new Roadrunner labelmate Rob Zombie, who is embarking on a very busy touring schedule. Zombie said, "Joey is an absolutely crushing drummer and I am thrilled to have him as part of the Zombie family. His amazing skills promise to take the live show to a whole new level of insanity."
Jordison also commented, saying, "I am honored, proud and excited to announce that I have joined the ranks as the new touring drummer for Rob Zombie. I've been a fan of Zombie's since the beginning. I've toured with them and have always wanted to play for them. When John 5 called me up to ask if I knew any drummers I could recommend, I said, only half-jokingly, 'Yeah, me!"
Jordison is universally recognized as not only one of the best drummers in hard rock, but as one of the most talented skinsmen in music, period. He will be sitting behind the kit for several appearances and tours throughout the year, namely the "Gruesome Twosome" tour, which features Zombie along with his longtime pal, Alice Cooper, which begins April 26 in Canada and runs through May 4 in Wyoming. Following that historic tour, Jordison will tour alongside Zombie as part of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which Zombie is co-headlining with KORN. That tour kicks off July 10 in San Bernardino, California and runs through August 14 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
"This show and setlist is mind blowing, and what better way to kick things off than the 'Gruesome Twosome' tour with horror-rock legend Alice Cooper," Jordison said.
"I want to thank all the SLIPKNOT fans for their support and the Rob Zombie fans for welcoming me in. The Demonoid Phenomenon is on its way!"
Jordison will make his debut with Zombie at the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held on April 8, 2010, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Zombie will be closing out the evening's awards ceremony with what is sure to be a "must-see" performance.

Review: "CSI: Miami": Zombie Brings Out the Best

When I heard that Rob Zombie (“Halloween,” “The Devil’s Rejects”) was
directing last night’s episode of “CSI: Miami,” I expected blood and
guts and downright crazy stuff. Zombie just doesn’t seem like someone
who would mesh well with the cheesy goodness that is “Miami.”
But
after those unbelievable first five minutes, I was a believer as Zombie
interspersed a rape and murder with an old black and white horror movie
playing in the background. It was a total fresh take on the usual TV
murder. And when the motionless girl lying in blood suddenly opened her
eyes, I jumped right off my couch.
And Zombie managed to
do something I haven’t seen on the show all season. He nailed Horatio’s
throwaway line scene right before the theme music fires (He didn’t put
on his sunglasses, but it was still good.)
It was the best five minutes in “Miami” history. Hands down.
I was pleasantly surprised that Zombie nailed all of the "Miami"
trademarks. I honestly think it was David Caruso’s best episode in a
long time—maybe ever. Of course, it helped that he was surrounded by
the best guest cast the show has ever seen, many of whom are Zombie
regulars. Michael Madsen was actually funny as the murder suspect.
William Forsythe was great as the skeptical police chief and Paul
Blackthorne was fantastically sleazy even without his native British
accent. And how can you possibly go wrong with Malcolm McDowell as a
sleazy lawyer?
Since Zombie decided to actually show
LA as opposed to making LA look like Miami, he needed a decent story to
back him up and he actually got one. The resolution may have been a
little too quick, but it still worked. Plus it was nice to see that
Horatio-Delko chemistry in full effect. And Zombie made the most of his
LA surroundings. His use of the Hollywood Bowl for a confrontation was
especially good. Even Jonathan Togo got some much needed camera time as
Ryan Wolfe.
Who knew that it would take a horror movie director to get the best out of this show?
