- Rob Cummings (Zombie) meets roommate Tim Jeffs at Parsons School of Design in New York

- Rob meets Sean Yseult who was also going to Parsons.
- Rob creates the band name and thus "White Zombie" is born with guitarist Ena Kostabi, drummer Peter Landau and bassist Sean Yseult in October.
- The band records a demo tape called "White Zombie" which consists of “Black Friday” and “Dead or Alive”.
- "Gods On Voodoo Moon" 7" EP recorded at Batcave Studios in NYC on October 18th. 0 copies were pressed and released in November.
- Kostabi and Landau released from the band.

- Tim Jeffs replaces Kostabi on guitar and Ivan DePrume replaces Landau on drums in January.
- WZ plays first live gig at CBGB's on April 28th 1986.
- Rob starts using stage name of Rob Straker.
- WZ records "Pig Heaven" EP at "6 and 8" Studios in NYC. EP was is released in May.
- Rob drops out of Parsons School of Design.
- Tom Guay (Tom 5) replaces Tim Jeffs on guitar.
